Grow it - they'll show it
There are pre-flowers at about a foot and half - 2 feet tall.
The plant has to grow a bit - 8 inches - I'd go a foot - and yes changing to 12/12 - putting them into bud / flower - still could take 2 weeks and yes they can be moved back to veg. It makes for a weaker plant. Get a good magnifying glass and search for good pictures of the pre flower. The females will show 2 prominent hairs and the male a knob (like a hair and a ball). I say practice your veg, grow 'em and they will show and stick what you think is a male in the bud room and then you'll see how to make sure. Buy or download a grow bible. There are plenty of free videos and grow forums that will help you more than Y!A.
